I qualified as a solicitor in 1997, and have practised as a civil litigation solicitor since then and to the present date.
My experience covers a broad caseload, consisting mainly of contentious probate matters; boundary/property disputes; disputes between neighbours, residential landlord and tenant possession/disrepair cases, cohabitee disputes, and general contract/building disputes.
I also sit as a Committee Member of the Civil Litigation Section at the Law Society, where awareness is raised in relation to issues affecting the public and practitioners in this area of law. In addition, events and workshops are run throughout the year to keep litigators updated on recent developments in the law, and those looking to appear in the future.

How we became what we are today
Jarmans Solicitors evolved from the old Sittingbourne firm of Winch Greensted and Winch, established in 1864. Jarmans strives to maintain its established standards whilst moving with the times.
In 1987 the firm was taken over by Maidstone firm Argles & Court and moved from its premises in Park Road to its present modern suite of offices in Bell House.
The present practice was “born” in 1989 out of a demerger from that firm.
The firm as a whole has the enthusiasm to continue to provide clients with the personal service they want from a solicitors' firm.
“I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Joan for her hard work and patience…”

This is quite a stressful time and i was made to feel at ease with Gordon Johnson who is handling my case. l was given clear and straightforward advice and information as to what i needed to do and where to proceed next.
Any time i needed advice, had a question or booked an appointment it was dealt with speedily, on the same day in most cases. l would recommend Jarmans to to anyone needing legal advice and cannot fault their professional approach to matters in hand."

"Dear Duane, James and Sue
I wanted to thank you for working so hard to ensure a successful sale of our property. Whilst the buyers were trying to push up the price unfairly, your advice and support was excellent, meaning that we saved a lot of money, and stopped their tactics mid-track. It is such a relief to have completion today, and to know that this stressful time has been made so much easier than it otherwise would have been.
A huge well done to all the team, and many thanks to you three especially.
Thank you again."
"Nicola and Nathan,
I wanted to thank you personally for the excellent service you provided to a client of mine in recent days.
My business is looking after the financial planning needs for my clients through investment management, but also their overall financial security and the need for wills, trusts and estate planning is paramount to the service we give.
Being able to relay on a fellow professional to provide this service is an important part of the client relationship built up over the years.
Having received an urgent request for help from my client, I forwarded his details to you outlining his concerns to set up Lasting Powers of Attorney for his wife.
That same evening you were able to make contact with him, fix an appropriate time to visit his home in North London and complete the necessary paperwork, all within a space of a few days.
I know that my client was relieved to get things done quickly, but more than that, was so impressed by the extra mile service you provided to give him and his family the peace of mind he so dearly needed.
Having used your services for a number of my important clients, I have no hesitation in recommending your professional services for Will Writing, Estate Planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Trust work, and will
continue to do so.
Thank you again for a job well done and a very satisfied and relieved client of mine.

You guided me through a procedure I knew very little about - which made it so much easier for me. Without your help it would have been a very difficult and worrying time."
Nathan dealt with our query and I must say could not have given a better service than we received. As our query was a small one I was prepared to wait as I felt they had more urgent things to do. How wrong I was and it was dealt with very quickly. A first class service and a satisfied client."
